Sanding a Blythe Doll's Face
...without popping the head open.
Here’s what I did…
Take 400 (or up) grid sandpaper sheet, which cost me $1.09 before tax at Ace Hardware…

Cut sheet into easier to handle pieces.

Cover Eyes with paper triangles (a la this awesome tutorial)
Buff face beginning on the back of the head in a circular motion. I left Blanche’s lips on, but if you buff them off too, make sure not to loose any of the contour of her lips by rubbing too hard. I am thinking about going over Blanche’s face once more with an 800 grid piece of sandpaper in order to smooth out some areas. So, if you are wondering what grit to buy, I would suggest buying two or more to experiment with.
Shiny Blanche Before:
Matte Blanche After... even with really messed up hair, she still looks better:

I think computer bugs have gotten smaller...
While opening my computer up to put more memory in, I found a small moth.

Even though the term bug may not have originated with the computer bug that Grace Hopper supposedly found, I still giggled as I told myself the story of the first computer bug.
My moth appeared to be significantly smaller than the first ever computer bug…

Installing Openssl on Ubuntu
LoadError: no such file to load—openssl
despite the fact that you have installed openssl with “gem install libopenssl-ruby”.
Thanks to this thread, I found out that in order to install openssl, you have to tell ruby how to compile the openssl extension, like this…
cd /ruby-1.8.4/ext/openssl
ruby extconf.rb
make
make install
